Islington Scheme of Work 
Lead Teachers have used NCCE Curriculum structure and written important updated units for a meaningful curriculum, with Intent, linking to local and partner organisations inc. Common Sense Media Online Safety SoW here And specifically embedding LGFL resources.

This computing SoW uses DFE funded Teach Computing, https://teachcomputing.org which has been customised for Islington schools to include relevant digital and learning resources.

Our scheme of work is tailored to Islington Schools by ensuring we have:

  • Adopted the new DFE Funded Teach Computing Curriculum Structure
  • Enable improved Progress Assessment and Portfolio Development (Seesaw + Google Classroom)
  • Embed effective legacy of Remote Learning (Digital Skills of Children and Staff)
  • Provide structured weekly lessons and progressive half termly units of work for all three strands of the computing curriculum
  • Make explicit links and use localised Online Resources from LGFL, Inc. Busythings, J2E
  • Maximise the best national and global open resources and computing pedagogy including the works of Phil Bagge, Barefoot Computing and Common Sense Media.
  • A core computing curriculum which teaches children how to safely interact with technology in the Digital World.
