Islington Council Computing & Online Safety Service

Islington Council have facilitated a computing and Online safety service across schools for over 15 years, delivered by lead teachers and schools.

What do we offer?

Online Safety Policy (KCSIE) and Education Support inc. Digital Workshops,:

• QA the KCSIE+ DFE requirements of IT systems (filtering and Monitoring) and user accounts (pupils and staff) Work with DSL/SLT, Governors + Technical Support (important task Autumn term start of year AUP, new accounts, LGFL monitoring systems)
• Organise and deliver high-quality online safety packages, open classrooms and parent workshops inc. Safer Internet day
  events and resources for pupils, digital leaders and families. *Template whole school digital charters and roadmaps available.

Computing and Online Safety Curriculum, Partnerships and Resources

• Curriculum Resources:  a localised and customised computing curriculum linked to DfE computing, partners LGFL and Common Sense Media
• And making links to the broader curriculum, pupil voice and extra-curricular activity.  Customised curriculum mapping for individual schools.
• Partnerships with lead schools, leadership and teachers
• External Partnerships: high-quality partners providing extensive workshops inc. Newswise, Bletchley Park, LGFL, Miles Berry, and Three Discovery.
• Fortnightly newsletter with the latest advice, news and information on Computing, online safety inc. free opportunities for your school to consider

Ongoing and CPD Training, in partnership with Lead schools and teachers

• Computing Leaders: friendly and community orientated CPD Working with Lead Partner schools, we host Central Training inc. Autumn Term essential leadership and summer term celebrations.  There is also an optional whatsapp group for quick Q and support.
• Staff Meetings and 1:1:  sessions at your school to support staff training and Instructional Coaching

Bespoke Training and Support inc. OFSTED preparation and Enrichment

• Action Planning & OFSTED Prep: The service can help leadership teams develop action plans and a strategic development plan for computing

• Curriculum Support and Enrichment: core computing curriculum implementation and enrichment inc. Code Club and school trips
• Celebrating Success: showcasing children’s computing work at events, displayed on school websites, displays around the school
